HUES: DESIGNERS OF COLOR BLOGGER SCHOLARSHIP WHAT: The HUES: Designers of Color Blogger Scholarship contest was created to help aid in the costs of books and supplies for student designers of color. We are awarding $100 blogger scholarships and the opportunity to get your blog featured at HUES! We are looking for freshmen, juniors, sophomores, and seniors in college who are passionate about fashion design, graphic design, or interior design...and would love to blog about it! WHY: We know that paying for college isn't easy, and that every little bit counts. Our winners will blog about their experiences as design students in school, and related content. To inspire other student designers of color, we're going to share your blog on designersofcolor.org and offer the opportunity to maintain your blog until graduation. WHEN: This is an on-going scholarship contest. You may enter at anytime throughout the year. Winners will be notified by e-mail, phone, or postal mail. Due to the number of applicants, Non-Winners will not be notified. A list of winners will be posted here. Judging Priority will be given to registered members of HUES: Designers of Color. Entries will be judged based on scholarship rules, creativity, and originality. Rules Eligibility: Applicants must be of African-American/Black, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, American Indian or Native Alaskan ethnic origin. Students must be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college or university in the United States of America. Students must be currently majoring in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, or Interior Design, or a closely related program. Applicants should be familiar with online blogging, and creating a new blog or editing an existing blog. Priority will be given to registerd members of HUES: Designers of Color. Blog should include: Original content using your unique voice, chronicling your college experiences (assignments, projects, classes), personal experiences (time management, hanging out, connecting with other students), and other fun design-related items (products, links, resources, inspiration)...be creative! An introduction entry or page with your photo or self-portrait, featuring anything you'd like us and readers to know about you. No less than 14 blog entries, on 14 seperate days Link to HUES: Designers of Color (http://www.designersofcolor.org). Employees of HUES: Designers of Color may not enter this contest. Content and images that are not original must include sources and links. Applicants must have a valid blog url (i.e. www.blogspot.com/you) set to PUBLIC. Free blogs can be created at blogger, diaryland, livejournal, etc. Entries may include links to other web pages and may include advertisements. Once submitted, applicants are encouraged to regularly blog to increase chances of winning. Only one entry per student, per year, is accepted. Applicants that apply more than once a year will be disqualified for that year.
